Timpani practice pads
These are timpani practice pads only. There is no snare side like the dual pads.
All pads were made from start to finish by a Luft Mallets. Kyle Lamb and myself oversaw every aspect of the production in my home shop.
The pads are all made from domestic woods. Douglas fir, beech, and oak. Many are from reclaimed materials and will have nail holes. The wood is superior to most anything available today of a similar species of wood. The beech in particular came from barn rafters. It’s gorgeous material.
The pads feature a 7” x 11” playing area. They are meant to go on a table or any flat surface. Overall dimensions are 13” x 9” x 1.5”.
The wood splines in each corner are decorative but more importantly are supportive the the miter joint. This will ensure the pad will never fail as long as they’re not heavily abused.
The cell phone slot is 1/2”(12mm) wide x 6.5” long. And iPad mini and fit vertically but not horizontally. It’s meant to hold phones with sleeker cases.
