These steel triangles are made from early 1900’s tractor components.
They are reforged in order to straightened them. Then they are bent into the triangle shape. Then sanded and polished.
I think the 7” versions are an excellent addition/alternative to what is on the market today. I tried to emulate the shape, style, and color of older Leedy and Ludwig triangles from the 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s.
In the few months since shaping them the tone quality has continued to improve. With more time and playing they will open up more.
There is no shortage of high quality bronze triangles but the brightness and clarity of steel is hard to pull off.
This batch of smaller triangles were an experiment that went better than I thought. They very in size from 3”-4”. Sound samples available to those that are interested. If you’re interesting a set of three or more I’m happy to work with you on that to pick the group you like best.
These are nickel plated.
